Obsession: The Book of Revelation from the Koran

February 19 – March 27, 2011

Opening Reception: Friday, February 18, 7–10 PM

Famous Accountants
1673 Gates Avenue, Bushwick, Between St. Nicholas and Cypress
Open Sundays, 1-6pm

February 8, 2011 — Obsession: The Book of

Revelations from the Koran, by Meg Hitchcock,

is the Book of Revelation collaged directly

onto the gallery wall — using letters cut from

an English translation of the Koran. Each

letter is cut individually and glued directly

to the wall in a wavering line approximately

47″ from the floor. The lines wrap around the

perimeter of the gallery until the entire text is

written out. Woven into this transcription of

the Book of Revelations are Muslim prayers

and personal meditations.
